Finshyttan Hydro Power AB is one Sweden’s leading providers of renovation and modernization services for hydroelectric turbines.
Finshyttan Hydro Power AB’s business can be divided into four parts:
The work is performed at the company’s own plant in Filipstad. Since 2001 the company has renovated, modernized and upgraded more than 20 turbines. The customers are mainly electricity companies, including major players such as Vattenfall, Fortum and E.ON, as well as smaller, local businesses.
Water turbines have been produced and renovated at Finshyttan since the beginning of the twentieth century. 2005 saw the merger of Johan Fallgren AB, which ran operations at Finshyttan at the time, and Aerodyn AB in Karlskoga. Later the same year the Aerodyn was acquired by the Swedish engineering group Morphic. In May 2006 a decision was taken to divide Aerodyn’s business areas into three separate companies, and the hydroelectric business was placed in Finshyttan Hydro Power AB.
