Through its subsidiary, Aerodyn AB, Morphic Technologies is one of Sweden's leading manufacturers of high-quality ship propellers. The business comprises manufacture of entire propellers and of propeller blades, bosses and axles for many categories of ship, including tankers and freighters, ferries and other vessels.

General

Morphic operates in the high-quality propeller segment. Long and well established customer relationships, a high level of technological expertise, a comprehensive approach to quality assurance and an extensive range of machinery are the company’s key competitive assets.

The customers include practically all major suppliers of complete propeller systems: Rolls Royce, Wärtsilä, MAN and Berg Propulsion, which together account for 60-80 percent of the global market for high-quality propeller systems. The end customers are individual shipping companies in all regions of the world.

Growing Market

The market for ship propellers is highly dependent on developments in the shipbuilding industry.

The strong demand for new ships in the last few years, largely driven by tougher regulatory requirements and surging demand from China, has sharply increased demand also for propellers. Demand has at times been so intense that the availability of foundry capacity has been a limiting factor.
