Exergy has its own patented technology for the production of fuel cells. Having developed every component of the stack Exergy can offer products at a very competitive price.
The fuel cell
The technology of the stack is based on laminated elementary cells, MEA (Membrane Electrode Assembly), that are fed by pure hydrogen or reformate gas.
The cell, called MEGA (Membrane Electrode Gasket Assembly) has been patented by Exergy. The uniqueness of the MEGA consists in a liquid gasket being injected around the perimeter of the assembly. By solidifying the gasket the MEGA is created.
The main advantages of a fuel cell with the MEGA are:
- Tangible cost savings
- Reduction of production time
- Reparability of the stack in case of damaged parts
- Test and characterization of each element before assembly in the stack
Exergy stacks are available up to 250 kW.
Production technology
Exergy has its own patent for the production of bipolar plates in graphite compound. The technology considerably reduces production costs. With the implementation of a new automatic production line we will be able to produce 60 000 KW a year.
Furthermore, our Swedish sister company Cell Impact has developed a technology to produce metallic flow plates for fuel cells more cost-effectively, considerably faster and to a higher quality than has previously been possible.
